| A Few Quotes From Qur'an |

|
O ye who believe! Save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the commands they receive from God, but do (precisely) which they are commanded.
(They will say), "O ye who disbelieve! Make no excuses for yourselves this Day! Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do.
LXIX - 25 TO 37
And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say "Ah! would that my record had not been given to me! "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!
Of no profit to me has been my wealth! "My power has perished from me!" (The stern command will say):
"Seize ye him and bind ye him. and burn ye him in the Blazing Fire."
"Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits. This was he that would not believe in God Most High."
"And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! So no friend hath he here this Day."
"Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds."
"Which none do eat but those in sin."
Say: "I do no more than invoke my Lord, and I join not with Him any (False god)."
Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to right conduct."
Say: No one can deliver me from God (If I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him, unless I proclaim what I receive from God and His Messages. For any that disobey God and His Apostle, for them is Hell; they shall dwell therein for ever.
LXXVI - 1 TO 4
In the name of God, Most Gracious Most Merciful.
Has there not been over Man a long period of time when he was nothing (not even) mentioned?
Verily We created man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So we gave him (the gifts) of Hearing and Sight.
We showed him the way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (rests on his will.) For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing fire.
LXXXII - 1 TO 19 In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
When the sky is cleft as under;
When the Stars are scattered;
When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;
And when the Graves are turned upside down;
(Then) shall each soul know, What it hath sent forward
And (what it hath) kept back.
O man! what has seduced thee
From thy Lord Most Beneficent?
Him, Who created thee.
Fashioned thee in due proportions,
And gave thee a just bias;
In whatever Form He wills,
Does He put thee together.
Nay! but ye do reject Right and Judgment!
But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you; Kind and honourable, Writing down (your deeds).
They know (and understand)
All that ye do.
As for the Righteous.
They will be in Bliss,
And the Wicked,
They will be in the Fire.
Which they will enter
On the Day of Judgment,
And they will not be able to keep away therefrom.
And what will explain to thee
What the Day of Judgment is? Again, what will explain to thee What the Day of Judgment is? (It will be) the Day when no soul Shall have power (to do) aught for another.
For the command that Day
Will be (wholly) with God.
XCII - 12 TO 21
Verily We take upon Overselves to guide and verily unto
Us (belong) the end and the beginning.
Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely.
None shall reach it but those
Most unfortunate ones,
Who give the lie to truth.
And turn their backs.
But those most devoted to
God shall be removed far from it.
Those who spend their wealth
For increase in self-purification,
And have in their minds no
Favour from anyone for which a
Reward is expected in return
But only the desire to seek for the
Countenance of there Lord most high.
And soon will they
Attain (complete) satisfaction.
VII - 155 TO 157
"And Thou leadest whom
Thou wilt into the right path.
Thou art our Protector.
So forgive us and give us
Thy mercy; for Thou art
The Best of those who forgive."
"And ordain for us that which
Is good in this life,
And in the hereafter.
For we have turned unto Thee."
He said "with My Punishment
I visit whom I will;
But My Mercy extendeth
To all things. That (Mercy)
I shall ordain for those
Who do right and practise
Regular charity, and those
Who believe in Our Signs."
Those who follow the Apostle,
The unlettered Prophet,
Whom they find mentioned
In their own Taurat and Bible.
For he commands them what is
Just and forbids them what is evil;
He allows them as lawful what is good
(And pure) and prohibits them from
What is bad (and impure);
He releases them from their heavy
Burdens and from the yokes
That are upon them.
So it is those who believe in him,
Honour him, help him, and follow the light
Which is sent down with him,
It is they who will prosper."
XLVIII - 28 TO 29
It is He Who has sent
His Apostle with guidance
And the religion of Truth,
To proclaim it over
All religions and enough is
God for a Witness.
Muhammad is the Apostle
Of God; and those who are
With him are strong against
Unbelievers (but) companionate
Amongst each other.
III - 60 TO 63 The Truth (comes) from God alone;
So be not of those who doubt.
If any one disputes in this matter
With thee, now after (full) knowledge
Hath come to thee.
Say: "Come! let us gather together
Our sons and your sons,
Our women and your women,
Ourselves and yourselves;
Then let us earnestly pray
And invoke the curse of
God on those who lie;"
This is the true account;
There is no god except God;
And God - He is indeed,
The exalted in Power, the Wise.
But if they turn back,
God hath full knowledge of those
Who do mischief.
III - 79
It is not (possible) that a man,
To whome is given the Book, and
Wisdom, and the Prophetic Office,
Should say to people;
"Be ye my worshippers rather
Than God's:" On the contrary
(He would say). "Be ye worshippers
Of Him Who is truly the Cherisher
Of all: For ye have caught the
Book and ye have studied it earnestly.
Nor would he instruct you to take Angels and Prophets for Lords and Patrons.
What! would he bid you to unbelief after ye have bowed your will
(To God in Islam)?
X - 31 TO 40
Say: "Who is it that sustains you
(In life) from the sky and from the earth?
Or who Is it that has power over
Hearing and sight? And who is it
That brings out the living from the
Dead and the dead from the living?
And who is it that rules and regulates
All affairs? They will soon
Say, "God". Say, "Will thee not then show piety (to Him?).
Such is God, your real Cherisher and
Sustainer: Apart from Truth, what
(Remains) but error? How then are ye
Turned away? Thus is the Word of
Thy Lord proved true against those
Who rebel: Verily, they will not believe.
Say: "Of your 'partners,'
Can any originate creation and
Repeat it?" Say: "It is God Who
Originates creation and repeats it:
Then how are ye deluded away
(From the Truth)?" Say: "Of your
Partners is there any that can
Give any guidance towards truth?"
Say: "It is God who gives guidance
Towards Truth. Is then He Who
Gives guidance to Truth more worthy
To be followed, or he who finds
Not guidance (himself) unless he
Is guided? What then is the
Matter with you? How judge ye?"
But most of them follow nothing
But fancy: Truly fancy can be
Of no avail against Truth.
Verily God is well aware of all that they do.
This Qur'an is not such as
Can be produced by other than
God: on the contrary it is a
Confirmation of (revelations) that
Went before it, and a fuller
Explanation of the Book - wherein
There is no doubt-
From the Lord of the Worlds,
Or do they say, "He forged it"?
Say: "Bring then a Sura like
Unto it,and call (to your aid)
Anyone you can, besides God,
If it be ye speak the truth!"
Nay, they charge with falsehood
That whose knowledge they cannot
Compass, even before the elucidation
Thereof hath reached them; thus did
Those before them make charges of
Falsehood: But see what was the
End of those who did wrong!
Of them there are some who believe
Therein, and some who do not:
And thy Lord know best those who are out for mischief.
O mankind! there hath come to
You a direction from your Lord
And a healing for the (diseases)
In your hearts, and for those
Who believe, a Guidance and a Mercy.
Say; "O ye men! Now truth hath
Reached you from your Lord!
Those who receive guidance, do so
For the good of their own souls;
Those who stay, do so to their own
Loss: And I am not (set) over
You to arrange your affairs."
LVI - 9 TO 57
And the Companions of the Left Hand-
What will be the Companions of the Left Hand.
And those Foremost (in faith)
Will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
These will be those nearest to God.
In Gardens of Bliss:
A number of people
From those of old.
And a few from those of later times.
(They will be) on Thrones encrusted
(With gold and precious stones),
Reclining on them facing, each other.
Round about them will (serve)
Youths of perpetual (freshness),
With goblets, (shining) beakers,
And cups (filled out) of.
Clear-flowing fountations:
No afterache will they receive
Therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication.
And with fruits any that they may select;
And the flesh of fowls,
Any that they may desire.
And (there will be) companions
With beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,
Like into Pearls well-guarded.
A Reward for the Deeds of their past (life).
No frivolity will they hear therein,
Nor any taint of ill.
Only the saying, "Peace ! Peace!"
The Companions of the Right Hand,
What will be the Companions of
The Right Hand?
(They will be) among
Lote-trees without thorns,
Among Tall trees with flowers
(Or fruits) piled one above another,
In shade long-extended, by water
Flowing constantly, and fruit in abundance.
Whose season is not limited,
Nor (supply) forbidden.
And on Thrones (of Dignity) raised high
We have created (their companions)
Of special creation.
And made them virgin-pure (and undefiled).
Beloved (by nature), equal in age,
For the companions of the Right Hand.
A (goodly) number from those of old,
And a (goodly) number from those of later times.
The Companions of the Left Hand,
What will be the companions of the Left Hand?
(They will be) in the midst of a fierce
Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water,
And in the shades of Black Smoke;
Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
For that they were wont to be
Indulged, before that, in wealth
And (luxury). And persisted obstinately
In wickedness supreme!
And they used to say, "What! when
We die and become dust and bones,
Shall we then indeed be raised up again?
"(We) and our fathers of old?"
Say: "Yea, those of old
And those of later times,"
All will certainly be gathered together
For the meeting appointed for a
Day well-known."
"Then will ye truly, O ye that go wrong,
And treat (Truth as Falsehood!"
"Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum"
"Then will ye fill your insides therewith."
"And drink Boiling Water on top of it."
"Indeed ye shall drink like diseased
Camels raging with thirst!"
Such will be their entertainment
On the Day of Requital!
It is we who have created you;
Why will ye not witness the Truth?
LVI - 77 TO 82 That this is indeed a Qur'an
Most honourable,
In a Book well-guarded,
Which none shall touch
But those who are clean;
A revelation from the Lord
Of the worlds.
Is it such a message
That ye would hold
In light esteem?
And have ye made it
Your livelihood that ye
Should declare it false?
XVIII - 29 TO 31
Say, "The Truth is from your Lord;"
Let him who will, believe, and
Let him who will, reject (it):
For the wrong -doars We
Have prepared a Fire whose
(Smoke and flames), like the walls
And roof of a tent, will hem therein,
If they implore relief they will be
Granted water like melted brass,
That will scald their faces.
How dreadful the drink!
How uncomfortable a couch
To recline on!
As to those who believe and work
Righteousness, Verily We shall
Not suffer to perish the reward
Of any who do a (single) righteous deed.
For them will be Gardens of Eternity;
Beneath them rivers will flow;
They will be adorned therein with
Bracelets of gold, and they will wear
Green garments of fine silk
And heavy brocade!
They will recline therein on
Raised thrones. How good the
Recompense! How beautiful a
Couch to recline on!
XIV - 32 TO 34
It is God who hath created
The heavens and the earth and
Sendeth down rain from the skies,
And with it bringeth out fruits
Wherewith to feed you; it is He
Who hath made the ships subject
To you, that they may sail through
The sea by His command; and the
Rivers (also) hath He made
Subject to you
And He hath mad subject to you
The sun and the moon, both
Diligently pursuing their course;
And the Night and the Day hath He
(Also) made subject to you.
And he giveth you of all that
Ye ask for, but if ye count the
Favours of God, never will ye
Be able to number them.
Verily ! man is given up
To injustice and ingratitude.
VII - 11 TO 18 It is We who created you
And gave you shape;
Then We bade the angels bow
Down to Adam, and they bowed
Down, not so Iblis, he refused
To be of those who bow down.
(God) said "What prevented thee from
Bowing down when I commanded thee?"
He said: "I am better than he:
Thou didst create me from fire,
And him from clay."
(God) said: "Get thee down from this:
It is not for thee to be arrogant
Here; get out, for thou art of
The meanest (of creatures)."
He said "Give me respite till the
Day they are raised up."
God said, "Be thou among those
Who have respite."
He said: "because Thou hast thrown
Me out of the Way, Lo! I will
Lie in wait for them on Thy Straight Way"
"Then will I assault them from before
Them and behind them, from their
Right and their left: Nor will
Thou find, in most of them,
Gratitude (for thy mercies)."
(God) said: "Get out from this,
Disgraced and expelled. If any
Of them follow thee, -
Hell will I fill with you all."
XXXVI - 33 TO 36 A sign for them is the earth that is dead.
We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom,
Of which ye do eat. And We produce therein
Orchards with date-palms and vines, and We
Cause springs to gush forth therein: that they may
Enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not
Their hands that made this: Will they not then
Give thanks? Glory to God, who created in
Pairs all things that the earth produces,
As well as their own (human) kind and (other)
Things of which they have no knowledge.
